Welcome to Northeast Georgia Presbytery

Mexico Mission Ministries Action Team

In 2008, there will be three different opportunities to experience hands-on mission work:

Mexico Medical Mission is a specialized partnership mission with Presbiterio del Noreste and Proyecto Amistad of Presbyterian border Ministries. Physicians, dentists, optometrists, nurses, and others with medical skills will partner with members of the medical professions in Northeast Mexico. Their activities include not only medical care-giving but opportunities to worship, experience the culture, and increase their faith. This mission departs on March 8 and returns March 15, 2008, to provide basic medical care. All application forms must be in the Presbytery office by January 1, 2008.

Mexico Work Mission is a personal, "hands on" mission experience in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, across the border from Eagle Pass, Texas. Volunteer missionaries from throughout Northeast Georgia Presbytery will travel for the nineteenth year to build houses and participate in activities designed to increase their spiritual fitness. We work with and receive assistance for our house building through Constructores Para Cristo (Builders for Christ), better known as CPC.This mission departs on June 6 and returns on June 15, 2008, to build four more houses. All application forms must be in the Presbytery office no later than February 1, 2008.

Mexico Partnership Mission furthers the partnership effort begun in 2000 between Presbiterio del Noreste, Proyecto Amistad of Presbyterian Border Ministries, and the members and churches of Northeast Georgia Presbytery. Volunteer mission partners from throughout Northeast Georgia, with priority given to former MWM missionaries, go during the fall to Presbiterio del Noreste to worship, work, teach, and share their faith within individual churches. In the spring, church members of Presbiterio del Noreste come to Northeast Georgia to worship, work, teach, and share their faith. The workshop/orientation for this mission is in September 2007, at a location to be announced. This mission departs on March 29and returns on April 5, 2008. This is a people-to-people ministry. All application forms must be in the Presbytery office by January 1, 2008.
